none of those in the fed would be effected by the law, therefore... they have no standing to bring a suit.

Sounds reasonable to me, as well.Only way around it would seem to be to rule that the feds have the right to prevent the enforcement of federal law.An in-obvious position . . .
It would seem that a countersuit to demand enforcement of federal law by the feds would definitely seem to be in order.
