Paul McCartney is an over-rated idiot. I saw James Taylor and Carol King at the Garden the other night. They came of age during the hippie days. There was no political commentary from either of them (not one word about he gulf, save the whale, bush is an idiot, obama is wonderful — nothing). They just did what they do best - perform. IMO, McCartney doesn’t even come close to the song writing genious of James Taylor.
It could be that James Taylor and Carol King invested their money with a Bernard Madoff and now they don’t have the option to be insulting.

James Taylor was certainly making himself heard during the 2004 election. I wonder why he’s so quiet now...he couldn’t be wising up. ;’)
King has in the last year or so spewed some strong left-wing hate-speech. Just sayin’.
My favorite writer of lyrics is always John Prine. I may not agree with what he says but he has a unique way of expressing things.
