Elton John rocks Israel after other artists cancel

A concert by Elton John has given Israelis a boost after a string of cancellations by other world-famous artists.

John, who wore blue-tinted sunglasses, told the audience those cancellations "ain't gonna stop me from playing here, baby."

Recent cancellations by the Pixies and Elvis Costello, who cited Israeli government policies, have added to Israel's growing sense of isolation.

John swiped at those artists, saying, "We do not cherry-pick our consciences," ..... [ snip ]

Not only that, he came out (pun intended) as NOT supporting gay marriage. He said gay civil unions are fine and that the definition of marriage needs to be left alone. What the heck has gotten into him recently?

I’d be optimistic but then again, Jane Fonda went through a period where she said a lot of conservative things and then went right back to being a doctrinaire Lib so I suspect the same will happen with Elton.
