I hope you don't think so, but apparently some other people do. A big DNS Service -- OpenDNS -- has "ratings" for different websites to enable all users to block websites according to these designations. There are about 55 categories.
Now..., OpenDNS is used by quite a few schools and businesses and families. It's a free DNS service -- something which is provided automatically by your ISP (Internet Service Provider). BUT, using OpenDNS instead of your ISP will usually speed up your access to the Internet, plus give you control over what you may and may not want your family to get (for example porn, advertising/tracking sites, phishing sites, malware -- for some examples). You can designate that OpenDNS block all porn sites for your family.
A lot of people might choose to block "Hate/Discrimination" sites, too ... so having Free Republic designated as a "Hate website" would mean that it would be blocked at very many places (schools, businesses, homes, families, etc.).
And in "labeling" these many websites on the Internet, OpenDNS asks their members to help them. Signing up with OpenDNS is a free thing, and no obligations. They don't bug you at all.
If you sign up for this free membership, you can vote "NO" on Free Republic being a "Hate/Discrimination" website.
See the page that has voting on this for Free Republic...
There are currently five categories that it's currently being "tagged" for ...
It's already been accepted and "approved" for "News/Media" and "Forums/Message Board". It's still awaiting votes by the "membership" (and that is free membership) for those other categories of (1) Chat, (2) Hate/Discrimination, and (3) Politics.
Don't let Free Republic be "tagged" as a Hate site on the Internet. This goes to quite a few places and you have the opportunity to easily undo this.
OpenDNS is arguably biggest free DNS service out there on the Internet (as far as I'm aware of) and so this vote is significant here ...
Again, the webpage where you vote on this (but you have to join as a free member first) is at ...

There is no money involved in doing this, you'll get no spam and you'll have no promotions of any kind, so you won't have any concerns there. Thanks ...
Is the DU a hate site?
I’m all of those things
I hate anyone that hates you.
Does that qualify? /s
Yes. They are Stormfront II.
Hah! First thing I wondered—Along with Huffington and the daily Kos...
There, I said it.

If you actually change your DNS to use OpenDNS you will indeed see ads.
If you plan on tackling all the sites and scenarios where FR might get a bad mention you have a lot of work cut out for you.
Exactly how is the White House website classified? I can give you my answer.
I wonder what would happen if a bunch of people tagged www.whitehouse.gov as a hate/discrimination site...
LOL DU “Screenshot may be offensive”

They have a lookup function there on that page... so you can find out ... :-)
Yeah, I saw that ... LOL ...
Might be worth a look.
We actually use ‘OpenDNS’ as a ‘Forwarder’ for our primary DNS server(s) at work.
This blue grass music person has a single-minded problem.
You are correct about this: it's well worth having Free Republic correctly listed at OpenDNS.
