Whenever any slight event occured while GWB was in office, the price of gas jumped $0.50 a gallon. Remember Katrina? Gas skyrocketed here in MI after Katrina. It sure didn’t seem like supply and demand played a role from 2000-2008.
Another thing I was wondering, I heard that this accident occured when BP was shuttind down and capping this well. Why would they be capping the well if there was still so much oil that could spew so readily.....

Well, demand was also pretty lively during those years too. I think I read that China has cut WAY back on importing oil recently.
