Sarah Palin: Marijuana is a 'minimal problem'
Politico ^ | 6/17/10 | Andy Barr

Posted on 06/17/2010 7:52:51 AM PDT by pissant

Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin said Wednesday night that law enforcement should not focus its energy on the “minimal problem” of marijuana.

Palin made the comment during an appearance on the Fox Business Network with Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas).

The libertarian Paul said enforcing marijuana restrictions specifically and war on drugs more generally is a “useless battle,” a point Palin somewhat agreed with though she was clear that she does not support legalization.

"If we're talking about pot, I'm not for the legalization of pot,” Palin said. “I think that would just encourage our young people to think that it was OK to go ahead and use it.”

“However I think we need to prioritize our law enforcement efforts,” Palin added. “If somebody's gonna to smoke a joint in their house and not do anybody any harm, then perhaps there are other things our cops should be looking at to engage in and try to clean up some of the other problems we have in society.”

I have no problem killing people who sell drugs to children.

What if they sell drugs to adults? What is the punishment for that?

Singapore has long bitter experience with drugs. It has controlled the problem by HANGING trafficers. That is the solution. To stop the organized crime portion you take out the distribution.

That's the ticket. We should adopt more of the communist laws and punishment. /s

No. I just know the laws that are on their books. They do not belong in a free society. You are required to have a permit if 5 or more people want to protest something. There is no due process there. People are held in jail indefinitely. The press is state run for the most part. They ban books. It’s just an awful place from someone who is used to having the liberties that the US affords.

Yes. PCP, LSD, Meth and other drugs that have no redeeming value, regardless of quantities ingested.

That’s because the illegal market place has relatively few barrieres to entry and the profits are incredible.

Take away the illegal market place and it’s a lot like buying a six pack at the grocery store.

As long as you don’t beat anyone up that’s fine with me. I would never make the claim that all people who drink are violent, but just about every violent person I know was an alcoholic, and tended to act out their violence while drunk.

Sarah Palin has stated she Against the legalization of marajuana.

POLITICO is taking what she said out of context and as the
Democrat site that they are with a few Mitt writers,
POLITICO is playing divide and conquer.

Like her or not Mrs Palin doesn't shy away from speaking her mind on any issue. Too bad she's alone in this regard amongst all of the names being touted for 2012.

What are the opinions on this subject of Hunter, DeMint, et al?

meh...like I said earlier, I don’t really care about those kinds of drugs one way or another. Keep em illegal, only the uber scumbags will try them, make them legal, it will only be easier for uber scumbags to OD. Either way I shoot ‘em if they step onto my property. : )

Heroin abuse on the rise (Singapore)

Feb 3, 2010

Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers nabbed 1,079 heroin abusers in 2009 - a 22 per cent jump from 2008.

(The US has about 90x the population of Singapore)

I’d rather see pot users picking up trash on the side of the road than taking up space in jail. Reserve the cells for violent criminals.

OK. You win. 500 grams of cannibas is way too small, in my opinion, to be considered a dealer. And even if you are a dealer, it is way too mild of a drug to merit a hanging offense.

Happy?

"That would be everyone up the chain if drugs end up with kids."

Then you're gonna need to kill all the doctors and pharmacists. Kids today are getting the best drugs from them, or stealing them from their parents prescription stash.
