A great debate has been under way for months over whether California's leading role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions would reap rich economic returns or retard recovery from deep recession.

The debate will intensify in the coming months as voters decide the fate of a ballot measure that would suspend implementation of Assembly Bill 32, California's landmark anti-global warming law, and as gubernatorial candidates Democrat Jerry Brown and Republican Meg Whitman argue.

"Investments in clean energy produce two to three times as many jobs per dollar as gas, oil or coal," Brown said in Silicon Valley on Tuesday. "Clean energy jobs and businesses have grown much faster than the economy as a whole in the past 15 years, and have continued to grow even during the economic downturn."

A few hours later, Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger, who counts AB 32 as a high-water mark of his governorship, echoed Brown . . .

AB32 is to California’s economy like throwing a 5 gallon drum of Poland Springs to a drowning man.

Look at Spain where green jobs cost more jobs than they created.

These leftist fools just make this stuff up and the leftist media simply parrots it without even a hint of fact checking.

When Spain tried converting to green jobs, they found that 2.2 regular jobs were lost for every one green job created.

By all means, that should be the primary criteria. After all, I buy a car based on the number of people it took to make it. The more the better cuz it creates jobs! Who cares about the price? Jobs, jobs, jobs! YAY!

"Investments in clean energy produce two to three times as many jobs per dollar as gas, oil or coal," Brown said in Silicon Valley on Tuesday.

Notice he says per dollar instead of per unit of energy. This is central to the lie. Since a unit of energy of renewable power costs 3-100+x the costs of traditional forms of energy by the time it is consumed.
"Clean energy jobs and businesses have grown much faster than the economy as a whole in the past 15 years, and have continued to grow even during the economic downturn."

We don't have to look further than Obama and subsidies that states have given for renewables to wonder why.

Every word of this story completely untrue. California has yet to reduce one molecule of the only greenhouse gas that matters at all, H2O vapor.

Suspending AB 32 would be a big step in the right direction. The MSM and the usual lib groups will be against it. It would send a big message if this measure would pass.
