Imagine if in the parable of the Good Samaritan the Samaritan had happened on the scene as the robbers were still beating the traveler. Should he have just hid and wait for them to nearly kill the traveler and then help or intervene?

Do people have rights to carry weapons then ? And does the Samaritan know how to use them ?
