Congressman Steve King, an Iowa Republican, today requested that President Obama's aunt, Zeituni Onyango, testify before the House Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security and International Law in order to address "the public perception that favoritism played a role in the grant of asylum to Ms. Onyango."
In a letter to the chair of the subcommittee, Rep. Zoe Lofgren, King writes that "[i]n order to better determine whether favoritism played a role - especially because Ms. Onyango had been earlier turned down for asylum and ordered deported in 2004 before her nephew became president - the Subcommittee needs to hear from Ms. Onyango herself."
"While I understand that asylum proceedings are generally confidential, Margaret Wong, Ms. Onyango's attorney, has clearly courted press attention regarding this matter," he continues. "In fact, I assume that the press learned that Ms. Onyango received asylum because of comments to the media made by Ms. Wong. Therefore, Ms. Onyango has made herself a public figure and should have no hesitation about appearing before the Subcommittee. Further, in order to facilitate Ms. Onyango's appearance before the Subcommittee, I request that you and Chairman Conyers authorize the Committee to reimburse her travel expenses."

This Aunt was told the LEAVE THE U.S. YEARS AGO!
Did she vote?
Let her stay and lock her up.
I know I’m going to get brickbats for this.
But in this case I think they ought to let the president’s Aunt stay here. I think it looks a bit mean and petty to be kicking the old lady out of the country. She is related to the President and an argument could be made that she’s the object of possible foreign anger.
I sure don’t like Obama but I don’t think Dubya would have let them deport his Aunt. If I was president I wouldn’t let them deport my Aunt.
Further, I think it looks small and mean for the GOP to pursue this. They ought to leave it alone. Obama’s done plenty to get the public mad at him. Keep following this path and it will only make the pubs look awfully teeny tiny.
W’s aunt wouldn’t have been an illegal...
Hey auntie - do you know where he was born?
Fair enough. But in the spirit of transparency, it would have been better if they had just come out and said so.
Well I hear you.
And Obama’s Aunt shouldn’t be illegal either. I get this.
I’m just going with my gut here and stating that for the pubs to jump on deporting an old lady....just not a good idea. It’ll make the Arizona thing become an even bigger meme.
Lookit, I’m not saying his Aunt should be here. I’m not saying there’s not a broken law here.
But you pick your battles.
I don’t see this as being one.
The mileage of others may, of course, vary.
Sure let her stay...in jail where she belongs. She is nothing more than a simple thief. She has stiolen the taxpayers money and displaced another real american who may very well need her apartment in the housing project.
Let Barry Soetoro pay her bills if she stays.
I suppose so, Rio. I suppose so.
All I’m doing here is asking that all stop and ponder just how this kind of thing would play in public.
Kicking an old, probably harmless old lady out of the country, our president’s Aunt?
It ain’t a bandwagon I’m gonna jump on but again, mileages vary.
This will go over so well.
The rest of the world will really admire us.
Put the old hag in jail...that’s the ticket.
Did Aunt Tookie ever have a legitmate visa? ..when did it expire?
We can always count on Steve King to ask the questions that others are afraid to.
The rest of the world already hates us thanks to Aunties nephew,he goes around the world saying how bad we are..So let me get this right, this woman should stay because the Muslim says so..Next the whole group will come and stay.
After saying what I did.Everyone should have their own opinion and not let others shun you for what you think..I have said some things I was called a troll for, but hey that was my opinion
I just hate anything to do with BO for the mess he has gotten us into.I still want to know if he is legal or not..
I agree with you and said so on an earlier thread. It just doesn’t seem worth it.
Glad you share my lack of passion for this.
For the life of me I can’t imagine a Rush Limbaugh railing on about illegal Aunts and the need to deport them, especially Obama’s Aunt. I like congressman King but I see press conferences, Democrat sound bytes about how obsessed the pubs are with illegals, lookit how they want to deport the president’s Aunt! Somebody somewhere would compare this to Arizona. We’d get pictures of old ladies sitting sad and alone in a jail cell. My mind spasms over what a PR mess this would be.
If this kind of thing puts fire in the belly of the anti-Obama folks than I’ll say a prayer. Because we’ve crossed some sort of line that scares me.
She can stay if she helps put this traitor behind bars...
There is no evidence Obama ever had any interest in his Aunt until she became a political lightening rod. The same is true of his half brother in Kenya who lives in a hut on $1 a month. Obama has no interest in them, only himself. If he is forced to show compassion for them out of political expedience it is only a short term concern.
How many tax dollars is Auntie Zeituni collecting? We already know she lives in tax-subsidized housing.
These phonies never paid a dime into the SS system; yet, they can collect seven years straight...... and can get extended payments if they are politically well-connected. The SS checks can amount to $1000 a month, and more.
In fiscal year 2008, the US government received 47,459 asylum claims and granted 10,743 - a decrease over the previous year's 54,957 applications and 12,807 approvals.

ANOTHER SCAM The Mexican govt is pushing its undesirables over the border, coaching its citizens to whine about "persecution from drug violence." Some of these whiners are wealthy phonies, squatting on US soil, intent on draining the US treasury. The Mexican drug war seems to be orchestrated to get its shock troops on US soil to start Reconquista.
THE RIPOFF UP CLOSE A Social Security category provides outrageous government financial aid to "refugees" claiming "persecution from drug violence." These phonies never paid a dime into the SS system; yet, they can collect seven years straight...... and can get extended payments if they are politically well-connected. The SS checks can amount to $1000 a month, and more.

MORE WAYS THAN ONE TO DRAIN THE US TREASURY Illegals are also crying "domestic violence" to collect. "How are asylum authorities going to substantiate these claims when we know that domestic violence is a complicated thing," said Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the advocacy group Federation for American Immigration Reform. "This is getting the US into personal relationships, and that's not where asylum law ought to go."
Mehlman said his organization opposed expanding the asylum law (which was created in 1980 largely as a means for Communist Bloc citizens to defect while visiting the US in a diplomatic role.) Backers of the law at the time estimated that claims would average around 5,000 a year and drop off significantly after the Cold War ended.
Immigration attorneys insist that "asylum" applications won't spike if the administration expands protection to battered Mexican women.

Most of this money goes back to their home states and into federales' pockets. Corrupt Third World governments obviously use the same playbook---"How To Personally Profit By Draining the US Treasury."
I don’t think much of the world admires or respects the US these days. The media and our politicians have seen to that. Yet we’re still the ones they come running to when things aren’t right.
