Secretary of State Clinton included the U.S. for the first time on the State Department’s list of nations “trafficking in persons” for forced labor ranging from farm workers to pole dancers and prostitutes.
“There are Americans, unfortunately, who are held in slavery,” Clinton said in releasing the annual report on nations who promote or permit the international trade in human beings for profit.
The report said the main source countries for forced labor in the U.S. were Thailand, Mexico, the Philippines, Haiti and India.

Still would have been a liberal nightmare. Maybe with less socialism. The Clinton’s were pragmatic liberals. They wanted to survive politically. not as committed ideologically as Obama.

There are illegal immigrants who are smuggled in by Chinese, Vietnamese, and Mexican "coyotes". They are then forced into sex industry jobs to pay off their debts and told that they cannot go to the authorities and told that their families could face repurcussions of they go against these organized criminals.
Hardly "American" citizens. But if we cracked down on illegal immigration, we could put a bite into this.
Also there was a Saudi couple in Colorado who had a slave. They didn't pay her for working in their home and forced her to engage in sex acts with them.
But last I heard, the punishment was to pay her years of back salary.
Meanwhile what of all of the other (muslim) nations that continue to engage in slave trade because it is legal under the laws of Mohammed?
