At least this one has the sense to apologize without using some weasel phrase like “if anyone was offended.”
He is veritable Einstein compared to most of them.
He’s know this crap could cost him the election in NC.
Well, sorta. While not technically "weasel words" per-se, "Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina" sounds awfully self-serving to me.
Somewhat like "You dumbass voters need to forget about me assaulting those hooligans, and just concentrate on how long I've been slopping all that good old gummint gravy back down there to ya'all at home in North Carolina...."
That's the old "Well, Mussolini did make the trains run on time, you know" defense.
To all involved? I live in North Carolina's 2nd Congressional District and I wasn't involved, but I feel like he owes me and my fellow constituents an apology for causing us all embarrassment for his actions. He's only sorry that he was filmed during his assault and battering of the student who asked him if he fully supported Obama's agenda. I wonder what he would have done if the kid asked him if he voted for Nancy Pelosi to be the Speaker of the House?
He should not get any political points for apologizing. The video is so incriminating, that it would be political suicide to not apologize unequivocally for what he did. Sorry is not enough. This Congressman ought to be expelled from Congress for assaulting a student who didn't do anything to provoke an attack except politely ask a policy question on a public sidewalk.
Ben Smith over at Politico posted the ‘talking points’ aka ‘attack dog points’ that the Dem party is extorting their sheep to follow...basically it’s attack the interviewer/person asking the question.
One word.... Video
