I don't think the Free Press allows their articles to be posted to FR, but the gist of the article, published on- line 45 min. ago, states that "Izzos stay-or-go decision likely hinges on what he thinks or is told James is going to do next month, when free agency begins".
This regards Tom Izzo’s, Michigan State University head basketball coach, decision to leave MSU for the Cleveland Cavs.
Tom Izzo would be crazy to move. He’s a living legend in a comfortable environment, and he’s wealthy.
So he wants to go to Cleveland, (ugh), with prima donna atheletes?
Tom, you seem to be a nice guy, stay put.
BUT, he would be leaving the state of Michigan...granted, I’m sure Ohio has an equally oppressive tax regime...
“BUT, he would be leaving the state of Michigan...granted, Im sure Ohio has an equally oppressive tax regime...”
The change in geography would be a wash. Michigan and Ohio are sister states, both rooted in the old industrial age of America, rust belt. Both have dimwit Democrat governors, both have high tax rates. I don’t know East Lansing’s political structure, but it is a college town, so I assume it to be far left. Cleveland is black dominated, far left with Frank Jackson (D), as it’s worthless mayor.
The risk can’t be worth the reward for Izzo.
I agree. He is on the cusp of establishing his reputation as one of the all time greatest college coaches. His # of final 4 appearances in the past 12 years is incredible. Even as a Fan of another Big Ten school, I would hate to see him go.
If LeBron is sure to come back, I can see why it would be tempting, but I still would hope he stays at MSU
When a player gets to name his coach...it’s TROUBLE..LeBron’s posse is already out of control in Cleveland...
I think if he wasn’t seriously considering it, he would have made his decision already. I think he does want to go but is afraid to admit it.
