Obama’s Interior Department, using lies to justify its offshore drilling moratorium, is already in the process of killing off as many private-sector jobs as any number of jobs bills could create.
Meanwhile, we’re bailing out state and local governments that spent too much in boom times and got too cozy with their unionized workforces.
The problem: At some point, the host organism is going to die. We can’t all work for the government, because someone has to produce something useful for government to tax.

What’s really sick and evil is impact the drilling moratorium will have on the entire economy. On the local level, the manufacturers of new equipment and now idled. Manufacturers of replacement parts are in trouble. But the hidden damage will be with all the suppliers to the manufacturers, grocery stores, retaliers, and on and on. It will be a nasty ripple effect. Long term, all products made from petroleum products will become much more expensive.

Essentially the fuel that feeds the engine of our economy is about to become real expensive and in short supply. I was “lucky” enough to live through the gas lines, $10 maximun purchases, and odd and even days. I worked for a car rental company and my job was to sit in gas lines all day to fuel up the fleet. Loads of fun.
