Has the MSM been able to identify any friends of the family??? All we hear from the neighbors is that nobody knows anything about them, EXCEPT that they homeschool, as the family is never seen out and about in the neighborhood.

Homeschoolers I've known have always been deeply concerned about extracurricular and appropriate social activities for their kids, so that they aren't isolated from the world -- and neighborhood.

My cousin, who homeschooler her kids ( both now Dean's listers in College ), actually coordinates with other homeschoolers in her area where they do social activities (sports, field trips, etc.) together.

And note -- a lot of homeschoolers are also church goers. Churches are places where young people get to socialize and have fellowship with other kids. My cousin's kids go on camps and missions trip during summer with other kids.

Lack of socialization is just an excuse by those who look at homseschooled kids with disdain. The reality is --- these kids DO SOCIALIZE -- but with kids who do not influence them to do bad things.

The homeschooled kids I have known have a full social life outside of the corrupt public schools. Its up to the parents to see that the kids have a social life, too. A lot of them get their social life from church activities, etc. Home schooled kids usually get a better education and are more well adjusted then public school kids. And they are not indoctrinated to be little commies.

Hennie,

PLEASE! Research before posting.

A literature search of social skill development compared to public schooled children would have told you that the home schooled population has measurable increases in social skills when compared to the public schooled student.

Interestingly, the home schooled student population also is ahead of the private schooled student population in terms of social skills.

Research is our friend.
