The Dutchman will not eat and sleep on the floor. Colombian hitman Trujillo Ospina, presumed assassin of Myriam Fefer, tries to visit him in his cell, which measures three meters by two-and-a-half meters.

(He) was transfered Friday to the maximum security prison Miguel Castro Castro, after confessing to murdering the young Peruian Stephany Flores. The cameras of the program "Weekly Report" record the entry of the European into the prison. Flanked by various agents and accompanied by the chief of the Institute of National Prisons, Rubén Rodríguez Rabanal, Van der Sloot was taken to a personal (single occupant) cell. He was examined by prison system doctors and was assigned the number 326390. He was able to speak Spanish and didn't need a translator...

Van der Sloot said he had a headache and hadn't eaten anything for two days....

Regardless of how it looks to others, I imagine it really depends on the individual.

I never watch him, so I don’t know.

I usually don't either, can't stand the drama queen but my GF likes to follow the Van der whatever case so I had to stomach it.....or else!

Peru won’t transfer him until his debt to them is paid. They are not concerned with crimes he committed elsewhere.

Exactly, why should Peru have to pay even more, just because Aruba dropped the ball in the first place. And if Aruba did their job in the first place, a Peruvian national wouldn’t be dead.

There is another story from Peru that describes him as “fearful and depressed.” I believe it. The phrase, thank you Bush the First, is “deep doo-doo.”

I'd hate to rain on the parade here but the fix is likely already in this Vandersloot character and when the media finds some other sensationalist story to write about and this Vandersloot affair falls off the radar, he'll be on a boat to some safe haven where he'll resume the privileged lifestyle he previously enjoyed.

After all, money talks and the Vandersloot family has plenty of it. So mark my words, this kid will NEVER be exposed to the general population of a Peruvian jail. In the near future, he'll be moved to the Peru version of "Club Fed" where he'll get color television, plenty of outdoor time for exercise (perhaps a little tennis and golf even) and conjugal visits from some of the fangirls who are sure to flock to him and write him with the usual marriage proposals (even Charles Manson gets love letters in jail).

After a while, when the rest of us have forgotten about him, he'll be removed from his "Club Fed" and put on a boat to some tropical paradise where his mommy will have $500,000 or more in an account for him so that he can go back to drinking mai tais on the beach and playing poker in the casinos.

We have to realize that people like the Kennedys and Vandersloots are different than the rest of us. Ted Kennedy can get hammered, drive a girl off a bridge and abandon her to drown while he sobers up and calls his lawyers to "fix things" because he is one of the "beautiful people." Ditto for this Vandersloot boy. He too is a "beautiful person" and he'll soon be back at the casinos trolling for his next victim.

He certainly appeared cool, calm and collected. He didn’t even look like he had the least bit of fear. He must be under some demonic power.

I do not believe the family is that well off, especially nothing like the Kennedys. The father was just a lawyer/judge.

"In the Mexican media, their Argentine hermanos are depicted as huge-nosed goofs with horrible hygiene and a tendency to scratch their nether regions in public."

Funny, that's how the Mexicans are portrayed in Argentina!

Also, the ll's are also said like a soft j. That is called a "Porteno" accent.... what I learned in Buenos Aires. There is another accent that is a hoot. It is called a "canta", where the words are truly sung. It is a riot to listen to.
