The Do-Nothing 44th President by David Michael Green

Posted on 06/13/2010 10:02:26 AM PDT by mimi from mi

An interesting article from a former Obama supporter. Lots to agree with, but also lots to disagree with.

What do nine dead Gaza activists in the Mediterranean, nine-plus percent unemployment, and ninety years of oil catastrophe clean-up have in common?

How about one astonishingly tepid president?

How about one guy in the White House who squirms in his chair anytime someone uses the word "bold" and actually means it?

How about one dude in the Oval Office who seems much more interested in making deals to determine who should be the Democratic candidates for various state offices than in actually solving national problems?

We could hardly have a president more ill-suited to our time if we were to dig up Herbert Hoover and prop his weary bones up on the presidential throne.

After it is capped, the oil spill will be cleaned up by nature in less than 5 years. Petroleum is a nutrient base for many marine microbes. in 40 years this spill will be as forgotten by the public as the 1970s spills now are.

Wow !
Other than the swipes at Bush and Cheney and Netenyahu , this could have been written by a Freeper.
“ Torpid, tepid, failure , The “ Mr Bill of Politicians ,”
inept, self defeating, not so smart, doesn’t get it,
his Dukakis in a tank moment was telling Lauer he needed to
find out whose ass to kick , pathetic ,
weak, punk , inauthentic, like Cheese Whiz , mediocre , hapless “
and on and on and on .

In Texas, this sort of person is said to be “all hat and no cattle.” I’ll bet a lot of Obamabots wouldn’t mind having a cowboy back in the WH.

Yup, it's not like it's some sort of malevolent substance cooked up in a mad-scientist lab on Planet X. The cool thing about this planet is that it is self-cleaning. Some types of messes may require more time than others to vanish, but it'll eventually happen.

Since a lot of folk seem to have the attention span of a squirrel any more, probably a lot sooner.

Don't get too excited.

They want him to become Mao or Stalin and rule with a mailed fist, beginning with extreme sanctions on anyone they don't like.

Such as us.

For example, is poll numbers go up every time he talks about kicking someones ass or confiscating someone elses property.

My sister lives in a northern rust-belt city and recently told me that among her Democrat friends and neighbors — nearly all of whom voted for Obozo — she is having a hard time finding any who don’t hate Obozo’s guts at this point.

The GOP should pay him to campaign for every Dem candidate in November. It would be money well spent.

He only does nothing when it would be helpful to do something; when there’s nothing he should do, that’s when he does something.

This article, when I read it all the way through, seemed like a 50-50. Some of his criticisms of Obama are valid, but they are from the left. I think this author thinks that if he had Obama’s position he could do a smarter and more effective job of implementing much of the agenda.

The sweet thing is, since he is such a narcissist and has no clue as to how he is perceived, he'll likely be enthusiastically offering to campaign for these Dems.

It'll be fun watching them squirm and trying to back away without coming right out and dissing Obie.

I mean, he did such a great job at campaigning for Martha Coakley... ;-)

Recall when, earlier this year, Democrat Congressman expressed concern that the healthcare bill could result in another Democrat massacre, like 1994.

Obama's response: "No way. This time, you've got me."

Really??? I didn't know about that. He really said that? Omigosh, that guy is more delusional than I thought.

Of course, I see this as working in our favor. :)

This is absolutely a matter of perception, and you can see it best in the way that Congress and especially the Washington press corps fawn over bold and intimidating presidents like Reagan and George W. Bush.

Does anybody besides the author remember this "fawning"?

What is always most puzzling with this guy is reconciling the fundamentally irrational behavior of his presidency with the obvious intellectual abilities of the president and the administrative masterfulness of the campaign he ran to obtain that office.

If Obama is so damn smart, why does he do such irrational things?

Liberals and logic cannot co-exist.
