This is very different than anything previous.
I understand and suspect that the abiotic oil theory will be tragically proven.
I do not see any other longterm solution, but to begin a massive drilling program to relieve the pressures encountered with this exploratory well. It is not an immediate solution. There is no immediate solution short of mitigation of the worst effects.
This includes an immediate revoking of the Jones Act, Booms, Skimmers and other interventions. Included in these actions is the suspension of the Federal Jurisdictions regarding the effected coastal states. This would give the coastal states authority over federal resources and decision making. I see this as the only logical long term solution.
I pray that the hurricane seasons are mild during the next couple of years.
Do you have any other solutions I have missed?

Do you have any other solutions I have missed? Unfortunately, the best one is also the most profitable.
Drill like there is no tomorrow.
Since it is profitable, and since it could also have a significant positive affect on our debt and economic condition, it is the last thing the Marxists will do.

Oh, pretty much anything is prolly just pissing on a forrest fire, but might as well try.
Any suction that could be applied to any of the leaks in the riser would have been good to help reduce pressure form the other seeps, but they cut that off.
With hindsight, you can see most everything they did was making things worse.
