Not to make excuses for Obama, but what is he supposed to do? There is no solution to this. It won’t be solved until they get those relief wells finished, which will be a couple more months.
The exact opposite of everything he has done.
he was supposed to accept the help from the international community (could waive Jones Act) and the different people who have tried to bring experts in.
he has dragged his feet in order to shut down Houston oil (not in his pocket) and to punish England.
IMO he is not only a narcissist but also a psychopath who will destroy everyone and everything which doesn’t bow down to him. His dark side is showing more and more everyday.
the first thing he should have done is get more involved in a leadership position from day 1. He can look to Giuliani in NYC or Bush nationally on the day of 9/11. This was a situation that needed a leader and he missed the opportunity.
Second, he took on the position after the fact as ‘the man’ in charge, and stated he had been since day 1. In that instance he now owns the failure. There are things that could have been done earlier both to help stop the leak and also to prepare for the cleanup and prevent damage. He and fedgov have been slow to non-existent, outside of the Coast Guard doing their duty.

Is or was?
As far as I’m concerned, ideas and solutions were neglected.

My understanding is that there have been a number of suggestions based upon methods that were successful in largely cleaning up other massive oil spills, and the administration for whatever reason has not implemented these. (There are two separate pieces to this- the leak itself and the continuing spread of the oil.)
This catastrophe is nothing but a mere inconvenience for dingle Barry, the Kenyan Asshat Usurper.
In the beginning he should have met ASAP with the heads of BP and the governors of the states that would likely be affected. Those meetings would have given him some ideas of things he could do to help and he would have had input he needed to formulate a plan to at least mitigate damages to the coast. He should NOT have put all the oil rig workers in the gulf out of work, there had to a better way to handle that.
At the very least had he met with the people dealing with the issues it would have looked like he cared and was trying to do something. He is supposed to be the leader of this country- it would be nice if he could show some leadership. He looks like a total incompetent playing golf, partying, and making smart alec remarks while this disaster is going on.
Anything would have beat nothing but blaming others...which is what he has done...as usual.
