I had heard a great deal about Saul Alinsky's book Rules for Radicals, but had never read them. The Right has demonized Alinsky, linking him to Obama. Curious to know more, I went to Wikipedia and found the Rules themselves.
As I read them, it occurred to me that these Rules are strategic, not ideological. Alinsky was of the Left, but the Rules have no party.
As I look around America in 2010, it occurs to me that the group currently using these Rules most effectively is the Tea Party.

The cancer messed up that guy big time. I hate the s.o.b.’s politics, and he’s a real wuss, and I wished I’da whipped his butt when I had the chance, but I feel sorry for him now...and he dated Oprah. Did he have cancer of the eyes too?
He doesn’t like it much when we use their tactics against them. LOL
The idiocy of Ebert is too easy a target to waste the time on. Even the liberals dont seem to pay any attention to him.
The idiocy of this statement is astounding.
Have you seen some of the movies that are right now? Who would want to review them. Certainly couldn’t pay me to watch that crap.
LOL. That is true and so few know it.
Ordinarily, I would wish this demented maggot die screaming, but he can just die painfully with the mute on.
And the problem with this would be... ?
Is it possible that Ebert is to the left of Alinsky?
I’d like to read the book, too, but I’ll not pay a cent to support some fascist liberal - I’ll apply their own rules to them and take what I need. To that end, anyone know - hypothetically speaking, of course, where one might find a price-tag challenged version, perhaps in pdf?
Please Roger provide an example of Tea party people invented frivilious lawsuits and “ethical” complaints designed to do nothing but smear and personally defund an elected governor. Waiting lefties...waiting lefties.
It would be interesting to see how Ebert "connects the dots" to the Tea Party. I suppose he uses "feelings" and loose assumptions because he does not really understand what the Tea Party is all about. If he did he would not make such a connection. But then again the Democrats have disordered minds and tend to accuse others of exactly what they are guilty of.
Alinsky was a two bit con man who encouraged the world to be a petty scumbag like himself.

“ALINSKY: .... I moved over to the table next to the cashier, exchanged a few words with her and then finished my coffee and got up to pay. “Gee, I’m sorry,” I said, “I seem to have lost my check.” She’d seen that all I had was a cup of coffee, so she just said, “That’s OK, that’ll be a nickel.” So I paid and left with my original nickel check still in my pocket and walked a few blocks to the next cafeteria in the same chain and ordered a big meal for a buck forty-five — and, believe me, in those days, for a buck forty-five I could have practically bought the [expletive deleted by mod] joint. I ate in a corner far away from the cashier, then switched checks and paid my nickel bill from the other place and left. So my eating troubles were taken care of.”
