I fail to see the importance in knowing the skin color of people...when I was asked by the census for my race I responded “human”, their response was that I needed to pick one from the list.

While I agree with your assessment that all humans are equal under God, it is rather naive to think that all humans are "the same." To illustrate, look at the neighborhoods in the Chicago area that were once white "working class" and are not hispanic (primarily mexican) "working class." While their are positive and negatives about each, you have to make the decision of which type of culture you want to live in.

But that is the point...humans are the same. The neighborhoods you are talking about did not change because of a skin color but because of a different mind set (culture or worldview) that moved in. A mind set or worldview can change...skin color does not. By focusing on the skin color we lose sight of the possibility of changing the worldview. As an example: I know several “Hispanics, whites, blacks, Indians, etc that are very hard working. I also know several that are in those same “groups” that are lazy. The skin color did not make them that way.
