BOSTON (AP) -- An undocumented Harvard University student is facing deportation to Mexico after being detained by immigration authorities at a Texas airport, the student said Friday.

Eric Balderas, 19, who just completed his first year at Harvard, said he was detained Monday by immigration authorities when he tried to board a plane from his hometown of San Antonio to Boston using a consulate card from Mexico and his student ID.

Why make exceptions? Life’s unfair, ain’t it? How else do you think Obuttocks got elected? It certainly wasn’t on the basis of merit.

If he was going to New Mexico State School of Cosmetology, would he be more deserving of deportation? The law is the law, elitist pretensions notwithstanding.

Good. Tens of thousands of well qualified students work very hard to get the legal privilege of studying in the US. It would be an insult to them to allow illegals to skip that process.

In March, Balderas was one of hundreds of undocumented students to publicly announce his immigration status during a nationally organized “coming out” day for illegal immigrants.”

I wish the authorities would hunt down the hundreds of other brazen criminals who “came out.”

Hey Drew....I've given you fifteen minutes to tell me what I missed....nothing. At least when I insult someone I can back it up with facts, etc....you on the other hand...well I won't go there.

Exactly. He needed a student visa and the rest of the Harvard’s students who are from other countries are expected to have the appropriate visa paperwork or would not be allowed to enroll. So the guy basically broke the university’s rules just as much as the recent student who was a complete fraud and was attending Harvard.

I am at an Ivy League university and I have had grad students miss their acceptances/enrollments because their student visa’s were finalized too late (not even that they were not eligible and getting a visa, just that it was too late).

Hey Drew....I've given you fifteen minutes to tell me what I missed....nothing.

Re-read my post. Or not. It's in English. Not too difficult. I'll give you a hint: Clerical error in immigration paperwork.

If you can't understand those five words, I haven't the time nor the inclination to try and explain it further.

Clerical error in immigration paperwork.

Dude...that mean's she's illegal...what do you not understand about "illegal"....she should be deported and her law breaking harboring/smuggling U.S. citizen husband should be prosecuted....as soon as he gets home from serving his country in Afghanistan or Iraq.

As I have posted previously, he was not eligible to obtain a student visa....his problem is unfixable if he wants to remain in the U.S. I understand the "kick him out" sentiment...but don't try and pretend he was just to lazy to "fix the problem".

Recently I read about the Mexican wife of an American soldier, a woman who had lived in the United States for years, bore children to her husband, spoke English perfectly and never so much as received a speeding ticket get deported over some clerical errors on her immigration paperwork.

Key words here (and you only have to understand two words) "get deported"....they don't deport legal folks Drew...only the illegal ones...what part of "illegal" do you not understand...LMAO

Son, here we have what we call laws. And we have found it is a very good idea to enforce them. Maybe in your home town (not San Antonio) they don’t do that so you assumed the same would be true in the USA. Well, I guess you were wrong. Good luck with your education back in Mexico.

If he can afford to go to Harvard, he can afford to pay the fees for a visa.
