Not for this type of crime I’ve been told. The maximum is 35 years. Too bad ... he deserves so much worse.

They're not going to be hanging him in Peru. He could get a sentence anywhere from maybe five years to a maximum of 35 years ... and that's it.

I do hope Peru has capital punishment.Peru did, recently have a capital punishment on its books for crimes related to the Shining Path, and Tupac Amaru, but whether its still in force today is unclear to me, and inapplicable to this case...
