After he was charged with first-degree murder by a Peruvian judge, Joran van der Sloot got an earful today from an angry mob of people who yelled and threw objects at him as cops hastily transported the Dutchman to jail.
Lima Superior Court Judge Juan Buendia issued the order before dawn and the 22-year-old suspect was first taken with other prisoners in an armored truck to Lima's judicial palace, then alone to an eastern Lima prison where he will have his own cell in a segregated block.
“The aggravating factors are having acted with ferocity and great cruelty,” the judge said.
Police manhandled van der Sloot as they ushered him quickly out of the truck at into the judicial palace, a scarf around his neck and his hands cuffed behind him. Two officers pushed his head down.
"Disgrace!" and "Murderer!" angry onlookers yelled as van der Sloot was taken from the prosecutor's office where he had been held since Thursday. One person threw rotten lettuce.

Local guy on radio was describing Peruvian prison the other night: 35 inmates to one room, no beds, no toilets, maybe 20 minutes in the yard....
He’s a candidate for Howie Carr’s (radio show) death pool.
He’s gonna need a solitary cell for the rest of his time there, otherwise it’s curtains for Joran Van Der Slut, international scumbag.
He won’t be put into general population until all the trials are done and they decide if they are going to extradite him to the US for extortion. I hope the US decides we don’t want him. Everybody will be better off if he stays in Peru. Except him.

If he is sentenced and imprisoned in Peru he will probably serve a short life sentence.

I hoped they banged his head on the van roof. He really does not look like he is having a good time :D
And how the terrorists father gets a prison "flying lesson" after the terrorist son kills a mob boss's son ?
Somehow I think the other prisoners might help Sloot get his wings.
The Maximum-Security Prison Castro Castro
This prison is located in the suburbs of Lima and was constructed as a high-security facility, until an MRTA commando was able in 1990 to liberate our comrades by means of a 315m long tunnel. Under the Fujimori dictatorship, the exterior of the prison was reinforced with military troops. The national police control the interior. Many of the guards are masked so that they cannot be identified. Many problems have arisen in this prison due to overcrowding, since three prisoners must share a 6 x 2 meter cell for 23.5 hours every day. This situation is made worse by the fact that all three share the same sanitary facilities in the cell.
Many illnesses have been attributed to these poor conditions. Comrades are not given medical treatment, and the bringing in of food is severely restricted. Only pre-cooked food for immediate consumption may be brought in by relatives, and no fruit whatsoever may be brought in.
Inside this prison, like in the others, one room is designated as a court for speedy trials. The prisoners are brought in with their heads covered and are often treated poorly or tortured."
