Senate Dems Vote to Empower EPA to Enact Cap and Trade

Senate Democrats yesterday voted to empower unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), trial lawyers and activist judges to enact Obama’s cap and trade national energy tax through regulation and against the will of the American people.

Voting down Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s (R-Ak.) resolution of disapproval (S.J. Res.26) by a 47-53 margin, Democrats approved handing the EPA the unprecedented power to drastically regulate carbon dioxide, the very substance human beings exhale when we breathe.

All Republicans voted in favor of the disapproval resolution that would have stripped the EPA’s ability to enforce their “endangerment” finding, six Democrats crossed over to vote with Republicans.

The mere existence of the EPA is unconstitutional since regulating energy and the environment is not an enumerated power listed in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution. People need to seriously consider civil disobedience as an option given that we have a socialist, runaway, tyrannical government. Keep in mind the three branches of government operate only at the consent of the governed. The people are the government and will have the final say as to how we are governed.

We need to choke them on funding until we get a President that will sign a giant restriction on the EPA.

After the mid-terms even if we got a bill to eliminate this power to Obama he wouldn’t sign it.

That's irrelevant. The EPA is unconstitutional and needs to be abolished.

GOP Senators Outline Importance of Vote Against EPA Overreach

http://demint.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=JimsBlog&ContentRecord_id=07220c9c-1218-49b0-82de-7548ce42c72d

(news conference video at link)

“Earlier this week, Republican Senators gathered at a press conference to outline the importance of today’s vote on a Senate resolution that would prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act — a move that would surely stifle an signs of economic recovery, allow unelected bureaucrats to further trample Americans’ liberties, and bring no real positive environmental impact.”

“Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) put it well when he labeled the EPA’s overreach as “a backdoor energy tax that will kill jobs.””

the terms “democrat tax increases” and
“democrat energy bill increases” need to be used, ceaselessy, so the sheeple know by whom they are being hammered

I dearly look forward to the day when the Nations TRAITORS are identified, tried and punished.

This not a about the Overthrow of a government, but the Restoration of a Constitutional Government.

2010 may not even matter. Even if the GOP gains control of both houses of Congress, they will not have a big enough majority to override a Presidential veto of any law to block or defund the EPA. It is my understanding the Supreme Court has ruled that the EPA has the authority to regulate carbon, thus we are so screwed.

These people have until January 2011 to rip this country to shreads. They will do it out of spite if nothing else.

Even if we win in 2010 we cannot do a whole lot to turn things around. The Kenyan has a veto pen.
