Small dots appear to "burn" through leaves Area affected is along Tipton and Shelby County line Farmers afraid they may lose their entire crop
(Memphis 6/1/2010) A mystery is unfolding across MidSouth farms.
Something is killing crops, trees, even weeds and nobody can explain why.
Farmers are scratching their heads and some are worried their crops may be lost to the mysterious plague.
It's happening along a large swath of land near the Shelby and Tipton county border along Herring Hill Road and elsewhere near the Mississippi River bottoms.
Tiny dots appear to have burned onto leaves of all types of plants, and they appear different depending on the plant.
On corn stalks, the dots seem to turn white in the center.
On other plants, a white dust speckles the leaves and then destroys the green life underneath.
"We found it all in the herbs, in the flowers, in the plum tree, in the weeds," said organic farmer Toni Holt. "It's apparently in everything."
Holt grows organic produce that she sells at area farmers' markets.
As she and other farmers inspect the new growth covered in the perplexing plague, they fear their entire crop may be lost.
I agee w/ you. Wouldn’t take very much to go to the ag dept in a local university...didn’t TN just have those major floods, which means a lot of rain??
Living organisms can adapt and mutate.
What would be more likely, is that this is a pest recently introduced into the area by plants shipped in from elsewhere.
Spores from mildew or bacteria wouldn’t survive in the hot dry areas of the Midwest. But one that had “changed” just might be able to go dorment, get a toehold and then explode to fill an ecosystem when the climatic conditions were just perfect.
LOL! Here we call it ALL YEAR LONG!
We measure rain in southwest Washington State by the foot.
Yep, it's completely logical and already predicted. It could cause a huge biological catastrophe. The dispersants don't get rid of the oil, but break it down into very tiny globules like a detergent. From that, it can leterally be evaporated up into the atmosphere with seawater during the normal weather process, or whipped into the air in storms. But once there, it travels along with humidity, forms into clouds, and then rains down upon... everything.
If you read the replies on the site, many people talk about a DuPont facility releasing some type of agent. They are thinking it may have turned into some sort of acid rain.
White kryptonite, of course.
Hopefully it’s not a sign that the third seal has been broken...............OB1
I live in Tipton County, and I call it the climate from HELL.
The heavens and the earth are witnessing against Obamaland (formerly America), spiritually known as Magog, Sodom, and Egypt, where the Truth is crucified at the place of the skull (poll/head/census). The jury of 12 (cf. אחאב ,גוג) has its verdict.
In TX, every spring, I get little black particulate specks which burn the leaves on my tomatoes and cucumbers. It coincides with the agricultural fires in Mexico & Central America.
What these folks are experiencing sounds different.
