Washington (CNN) -- The Senate on Thursday is expected vote on a "resolution of disapproval" by an Alaskan senator that would prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from further regulating air pollution from vehicles and industrial facilities.
Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, the author of the resolution, vowed Tuesday to strip the EPA of its authority to impose new limits on the emission of greenhouse gases.

Wow! Somebody in Congress finally woke up to the fact that the executive branch works for congress, not the other way around.
DOn't get carried away. Murkowski is a corrupt RINO; just like her dad.
The article doesn't mention that she has a primary challenger who has been endorsed by Sarah Palin. This is nothing more than a desperate attempt to get more votes when she knows her proposal is going nowhere.
No, Murkowski just suddenly got religion after Palin endorsed her primary opponent Joe Miller.
Thanks for the information. Either way - I think that someone bringing forward the fact that bureaucracies are undermining the authority and venue of our elected officials is a very good thing. If Murkowski didn’t have a serious challenger, she might not have launched this ploy.
Well, Constitutionally speaking, that is not so. The 3 branches of government were intended to be co-equal, with no one of them bowing to the other.
“further regulating air pollution from vehicles and industrial facilities”
This shows CNN’s bias right off the top. CO2 is NOT air pollution. It is a normal constituent of air, and necessary for life on this planet. Added CO2 is actually increasing the rate of plant life growth to the benefit of mankind.
If you persist in bringing facts into the discussion, a lot of liberal brains may explode. They are already drowning in cognitive dissonance as they watch their Messiah shrink before their eyes.
Common sense & guts!
Yeah, it’s interesting that Lisa had no interest in being a conservative until a certain other woman from Alaska endorsed a certain guy from Alaska to take her job.
Let her be as conservative as she likes if it helps damage the EPA’s ability to damage us. THEN she can lose in November.
Well, constitutionally speaking, that IS so.
The legislature, representing “We, the People” determines, through the laws it passes, how the country is to be run.
The executive branch, headed by the Chief Magistrate (”president”) is charged with faithfully EXECUTING those laws.
The Chief Magistrate IS empowered by the Constitution to veto any law, but even that can be overridden by the legislature.
Theoretically, absent any laws from Congress, the executive branch has nothing to do.
Certainly there are necessary checks and balances between the branches, but that does not make them “co-equal”.
just was voted down....call your reps and call them con-men.
we need to see the books on every member of congress and all their little ‘friends’....
see this??
