An Ottawa area inventor has spent the last two weeks on the Gulf of Mexico coast trying desperately to convince BP that he might have a way to clean up the company's massive oil spill.
Tens of millions of litres of oil have poured into the Gulf from a BP oil well 80 kilometres off the coast of Louisiana since the Deepwater Horizon rig drilling the well exploded April 20, killing 11 people.
Willie Nelson, 69, of Perth, Ont., has spent 40 years developing a kind of wax that acts like a sponge that absorbs oil, making it easy to scoop up.
"The method is so simple, it's actually embarrassing," Nelson said.
He said his material has already been used by Environment Canada and the U.S. Coast Guard, and he provided documents to back up that claim. But, he said, it has never been used on a really large spill and never on the particular mix of oil and chemical dispersants that are currently in the Gulf waters.

Chalk up another one for government-business footdragship. For those of you who thought that Obama, BP
et. al. had
something against Maine boom manufacturers, or Americans, I can say that the claque is "fairer" than that - they're shutting out Canadians too.

Maybe Willie could sing a little “You are Always On My Mind” to the BP folks.

has spent 40 years developing a kind of wax that acts like a sponge that absorbs oil, making it easy to scoop up. Is the wax worth using, will it cause more damage than the oil, will it be economical to use compared to other clean up methods, is it readily available now?
Just because it is claimed to work doesn't mean it will over such a wide area as the gulf spill.

Yeah right. Letting it leak while PRETENDING to be outraged accelerates Cap & Trade and the progressives agenda of killing our capitalist economy and replacing it with a “green one” controlled by global governance.
