Greensboro has a history of deadly political conflict within my own memory. Conservative protestors have a tendency as a result to walk on eggshells to avoid even the remotest comparison to 1979. The comparisons are made anyway, wrongheaded though they are.
They up and surprised me by very recently electing a fairly conservative mayor the last go 'round, so maybe there's hope for that old Quaker town, that haven of tolerance named for a lapsed Quaker General in the Revolutionary War, the site of that historic turning point, the Battle of Guilford Courthouse.
This won’t even make the fishwrap. If the perp had been white at a rally of mostly blacks, it would have been on the front page already.
