After the dog and pony shows we've seen in Aruba - along with the rumors that some autorities were bought off - it was probably a smart move to let him get outside of that country to a place that would be serious about prosecuting the cretin.

No way to know he'd commit such a heinous murder in such a short time, knowing he was under surveillance.

Tragic at it turned out, he is finally done for - and Peruvian jails, we understand, are no picnic.

They've got him cold, he killed the daughter of a prominent Peruvian, daddy is dead and can't come to the rescue and I understand he and ma-ma are on the outs. Stick a fork in him.

I support the death penalty, as a rule. In this case, since it's the Peruvian jails he'll be in, I hope he just sits and rots year after year. (Of course, general wisdom has it he won't last long there. Those prisons are bad enough - but he killed one of their own...brutally. And I hope the authorities check his movements of the last 5 years with the unsolved murders of young women in those areas. If he could kill a young person so brutally, in such a fit of rage - for what HE considers justification "SHE VIOLATED MY PRIVACY!" it's quite probable there are other victims in his wake.)

He’s about to become the featured item on the daily menu in his cell block: “Prison Burrito” which is soft Dutch white bread stuffed with Peruvian pork.

A possible scenario is that he wanted to “remain silent” but that was just laughed at. The authorities may have told him that he was going to get convicted, it was a matter of degree. If he admitted to killing her in a crime of passion, he would get a certain amount of time. However if he did it with pre-mediation it would go very very badly for him in prison. I think they offered him a deal and he took it.
