The Burmese generals have long cast greedy eyes at Northern Thai provinces that were under Burma's control for some 200 years, ending about the time our own Revolutionary War began. Most recently Burma demanded Chiang Mai Provence about five years ago during a border conflict.

Nuclear weapons in Burma's possession would pour gasoline on such problems.
