Bill Kristol just said on Fox he has inside info that Barrett will concede tomorrow!

I doubt it...because of the GOP good ole boy system trying everything to destroy her....but a runoff with Haley leading by 28 points might cause damage...this might happen indeed.

Nah, never happen. Barrett’s too far into this to just quit, and he has an aura of entitlement about him, like he’s owed the governorship. I’ll keep an ear out tomorrow just in case, though.

I was watching, but I missed the part that he said ‘he had inside information’...

I cannot imagine "good ole' boy Barrett" conceding anything but stranger things have happened. Obviously I hope he does.

When I saw the lead Nicki had, I wondered if he’d drop out. He can’t do the vilification thing. Andre’s showing illustrates the lack of success on that front.
What could he do to pick up more votes. The fact she was so far out in a three way race seems to indicate she’ll pick up speed. [I hope]

The party won't have the cash to keep this going. She was a clear winner and now is the time to position behind her and throw this other guy some future support. I agree with Kristol.

How’s Nicki’s chances in the general vs. the rat?

It’s the Sarah Palin effect. Look for it in the future.

I am sure Barrett is a little angry with Bauer tonight. If not for Andre’s henchmen, the race may have been closer giving Barrett a fighting chance in a run-off. Bauer’s boys simply added more wind to Nikki’s sails. Well done by her tonight. Looking forward to a little history making in November.

48.79% with Kershaw and a couple of precincts in Greenville county still out.
The only way that Barrett could win is if he can pick up the mud and somehow make it stick to her.

SC is a weird state, Dem can win the Gov. but it all depends on how effective the car wreck style politics work.
SC loves brawls.

Hows Nickis chances in the general vs. the rat? SC is a safe GOP seat. Unless she implodes, she is the next Governor.

South Carolina is a very conservative state (one of the reasons I retired here). I’d say her chances are excellent.

He may drop out but he won’t throw his support to Haley.
And Bauer’s lousy showing was cosmic justice for his petulant dirt-throwing.

Kristol has good inside sources among the GOP establishment. He may well be right.

They just said on Fox that the RGA has put out a statement asking him to step down.

Apparently under South Carolina law, it’s not enough for Barrett to concede, ALL of the run-off opponents have to consent. Even Andre’ Bauer could force a runoff, and apparently he was the one behind the Haley rumors. I doubt he’d let her avoid a runoff.
