A Connecticut school board has voted to appeal a federal court ruling that would keep the town's two high school graduation ceremonies out of a megachurch.
. . .
Hall found that holding the June 23 and 24 graduations at First Cathedral Baptist Church in Bloomfield would amount to an unconstitutional government endorsement of religion.

This is very interesting. It is very common all over the country to borrow churches and stuff on occasion

There isn't a damn thing in the U.S. Constitution that says high school graduations cannot be held in a church. NOT A DMAN THING! ANYWHERE!
To the potheads and judges out there. They are holding a graduation, not a religious ceremony. Get some help!

The people of Enfield were in an uproar after the board’s decision last week not to appeal. Consequently the board felt pressure to conduct another vote tonight.

It has been said before, but it is time for separation of school and state.

I suggest they hold the ceremony in the Judge’s yard.
Make the cops drag all individuals off the yard.

I have attended two evangelical crusades that were held in a state run college field house. Did that mean that the state endorsed that religion? I’m sure they were happy to cash the check and have the revenue.

I agree, they use to hold church services at the white house and the supreme court building and the founding fathers understood the difference of using a building or endorsing a religion.

Hard for me to understand how the Church has standing? Maybe the charge for the use of their building? Otherwise, it would seem to me the school system would have to appeal.

Too bad I had election results on and did not read very carefully. I guess it is the school board appealing?

A Connecticut school board has voted to appeal a federal court ruling Extra-Constitutional rulings like this just need to be ignored. At a certain point, there will be so many such tiny rebellions all over the country that affirmative-action-Clintoonian judge opinions will be unenforceable.

Somebody REALLY needs to stand up to the aCLU. This commie stuff has gone too far. They should just hold it in the church anyway. What's the court going to do?

Exactly. It’s their graduation. This so called “judge” should stick to playing with her gavel and leaving the American people alone. It’s OUR country. Not hers. This is fascism pure and simple.
