The cavern of oil goes all the way inland under Alabama, etc. It can pump 500,000 barrels a day for ten years! That about one normal tanker a day. About what one normal to large refinery can handle every day. So right there, P O O F , instant under $2 gasoline. Plus, that much less money for our enemies(the Saudis) to buy arms for their pals.

Let's say all of that is true. But what about SECURITY? Such pressurized jugular veins would be sweet and easy targets for our enemies, at the time of their choosing. What happens if we go to war? What happens if a dozen of these are all sabotaged and/or torpedoed?
