I would love to have rail as a traveling option across the country. I can’t stand the mess of flying anymore but I imagine rail would be just as messed up pretty quickly. As for using it within cities or even regionally, our current city have just not been designed with efficient mass transit in mind. Maybe when gas hits $10 a gallon, mindsets will change, who knows.

"...Maybe when gas hits $10 a gallon, mindsets will change, who knows..."

If anyone thinks the horrible, destructive, poorly thought out and chaotic energy policy of this administration is an accident, they aren't paying attention.

They WANT $10 a gallon gasoline. They want it with every fiber of their being. They WANT it, because as you said, DonaldC, "mindsets will change".

It is a Cloward-Piven energy strategy.

You already have that option.

The second it was functional it would be the target of every Islamic saboteur on the globe.

The rail alternative would cost much more to keep safe once en route too.
