Yah, there may be no live Rush right now, but there's always great archives to watch. For example, the Best of Rush, the famous, Dan's Bake Sale. Actual audio of Dan's call and videos from the famous bake sale. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k841nlsHC0M
This was GREAT!
I golfed at the Ptarmigan course earlier in the day and then headed up to Dan’s Bake Sale.
Fond memories of my early days as a ditto-head.
Flew into Ft Collins in friend Jim T.’s Bonanza and walked into town...fun day. Huge crowd. Good memory. Thanks for posting.
Gee, that brings back memories. I remember the original call and how it just seemed to explode into this huge rally. It sure was a long time ago though, I was in my 2nd year of college, now I’m 36 and have 2 kids of my own in junior high.
“I’ll bring some baked poodle” - LOL, I was crying from laughing so hard!
That was Rush’s finest moment. And then he went country club, and changed for the worse.
My wife’s sister and her husband drove up from Golden and barely made it due to the traffic. If I remember correctly Dan was unemployed and his wife was a tight wad. Mic from the High Mountain brought tears to old Benders eye although Poodle is much better in a slow cooker with onions and carrots ...RIP Mic
I still have my copy of “The Way Things Ought to Be” autographed by Mrs. Dan.
