WASHINGTON, June 7, 2010 – Helen Thomas announced Monday that she is retiring, effective immediately.
Her decision came after her controversial comments about Israel and the Palestinians were captured on videotape and widely disseminated on the Internet.
Thomas later issued a statement: ``I deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians. They do not reflect my heart-felt belief that peace will come to the Middle East only when all parties recognize the need for mutual respect and tolerance. May that day come soon.’’
Thomas will mark her 90th birthday on Aug. 4.
I'm sure we can find an equally horrifying replacement. My vote for the most horrifying is:
1. Nancy Pelosi
2. Hillary Clinton

No doubt! I would be very surprised if firing her doesn't stir up an even bigger hornet's nest for her like-minded, but more discreet colleagues. Hell hath no fury than a 90-year-old anti-semite scorned.

You’re right. ‘Views’ is not there...hmmmmm I did not notice that until you pointed it out. I wonder if it has something to do with yesterday’s downtime.
She was always against the Jews and supporting the Philistines.

Helen is so old, she was the one who first reported that Cain’s wife divorced him because he wasn’t Able.
