I cant stop asking myself how did Elton John, gay pop icon, ended up performing at at Rush Limbaughs wedding.
Anyway, the act took place in Palm Florida on Saturday night. The guests included celebrities such as Fred Thompson, Sean Hannity, Bush adviser Karl Rove, golfer Tom Watson and Rudolph Giuliani. Did i forget to mention it was a 400 guests wedding?
Limbaugh and Rogers met six years ago at a charity golf tournament. There is a 20 years difference between the two but that doesnt seem to be a problem for them. Kathryn Rogers said she is sometimes not able to relate to the average person my age.
Im guessing Elton John couldnt help it and went for the million bucks. That is the reported $1 million payday for Elton John. But still , having a gay guy performing at your wedding is a bit ..awkward.
She should have tols Rush to give the million to her favorite charity and gotten a “good” wedding singer for a couple of thousand.
galss
I’m as big a Rush fan as you will ever find. Meaning the 3 hours he puts in 5 days a week are what I think are almost always virtuoso performances. But I’ve heard that in his personal life Rush is maybe what I might call a “Kitsch King” in terms of his personal taste. I think people may have seen the interior of that NYC apartment which was pretty - well let’s just say his taste is not my taste.
I think in general, if we like somebody’s public persona (Rush, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, etc.) we make certain assumptions about what they are like out of the spotlight and those assumptions may or may not be true.
It’s just the way our celebrity driven world works.
I may love Rush the entertainer, the commentator, the conservative spokesperson - probably doesn’t mean I’d necessarily enjoy his tastes in music, home furnishings or whatever.
I thought he was [doing Carville impression] "dyin' down theyuh ! "
Well, I am a direct descendant of John and Pricilla Alden, along with many many others, and I don’t feel special or significant.
I say, So what! Who cares, Get over it!
Can you imagine the Brides hair?
That's Gaelic for "glass". Everyone know that!
It wasn't me that brought it up.
wow,I’m not sure why thats necessary?
I will never get married again unless I can have these two play at my wedding.

I said nothing about being a fan. I said the man has talent. There’s a difference. Also I am not a fan because I don’t care for his type of music, not because he’s gay.
The latter is more likely but he wont get any credit from the bigoted hate filled libs.
Rush can't here music that he can't remember before his hearing loss.
So Inviting Rihanna (not that he would) wouldn't work for him.
Elton John's music he remembers and has a big enough portfoilio of music from his younger days that as "A Wedding Band" their will be slow stuff and rock and roll for the young and geezers alike to shake their booty's too :-)....
I can't think of an old rocker that he can still hear with his implant that has all Elton has to offer. Think about it, Frankie Valley etc etc who would you have that could top Sir Elton that is more mainstream?
Well .. I guess not. But .. what does “smart” have to do with it. Talent is talent. As long as Elton John didn’t want to give a lecture on same sex marriage .. what is your point ..??
Evidently, Rush is not a homophobe as the left likes to believe. In other words, Rush is able to separate the person’s talent from the person’s ideaology .. and although it differs from Rush’s, Rush is big enough to not let it matter. I think it might have been a gift to his new wife.
Actually, you sound more liberal than most “liberals” I know.
Doesn’t Elton John make about 1 million every time he performs a concert?
Who thinks she would have married him if he were a butcher in the meat dept. of a Waldbaum’s supermarket ?
Right. And in the same vein, make sure you don't jump in front of speeding freight trains on your way home.
At least if Rush had Frankie Valle, he could have gotten onstage and performed "My Hands Explored You" with him.
I know, but thought it was only polite to ping you. And, I wasn’t referring to you, humblegunner, but to those who imagine that having a well-know ancestor way back when somehow elevates them.
God considers us all equal. I hate people who yammer on about their “social status”.
