What if BP Never Stopped the Oil in the Gulf of Mexico?

I know that’s the plan and I know that’s the depth the relief wells are going. I just hope it works. One relief well was started about 3 weeks after the first. Will we have to wait for #2 to come in?

Not if the first one is successful. It is my understanding that they only wanted to drill the one relief well but the gov’t insisted on a second so it could be further along in case the first one was a success. I think it took at least two with the IXTOC well back in 1979.
