Sadly, with the passing of so many WWII veterans--and those who lived through that war--much of the memory of it will be lost, and the history books "revised" so that the great heroism and partiotic spirit that reigned during that era will also be downplayed--and eventually even forgotten.

Those dates DO need to remembered--but I'm afraid there will be fewer and fewer commemorations of the anniversaries of Pearl Harbor, D-Day, and VE and VJ days--but NOT fewer commemorations of the anniversaries of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki! :<(

Deregulation always seems to work. Although we still have accidents, there seem to be fewer without the air traffic controller’s union. Fed Ex and UPS are doing pretty well, once the US Post Office could not enforce their monopoly.

Deregulation being bad to a Democrat is code for statism and a government run economy being good. They hate capitalism and a free market economy. They much prefer government choosing winners and losers using governmental power and corruption.

IFRC, wasn’t it Galveston TX that opted out of social security and government retirement programs; and setting up a retirement program that today pays four times or more what they would have gotten under social security? Per the Mitch Daniels link earlier on this thread, it says Indiana contracts out highway maintenance and they are now solvent and paying for repairs and expansions when they could not before with highways under the state workforce and spending habits. (Sorry, I didn’t meant to rant on.)

IFRC should be IIRC, if I remember correctly.

After FNS, I turned to FNC. That idiot who is a doctor was saying everyone should ride bikes to work (If their health would allow that).

I am still suspicious of the ‘blow-out’. If Rita, Katrina, and Ike did not release any oil - with platforms literally destroyed, why is this one so bad?

<<< This deregulation myth is what the Demonrats always drag out to explain away their failures. >>>

Apparently a little reported fact is that the permission for the well that exploded was granted during the Obama regime, not the Bush years.
An inconvenient truth!

Thanks for the link to that article on Mitch Daniels. If he runs, he has my vote!

From the article:

“The reforms began instantly. On his first day Daniels reversed an executive order signed by a Democratic predecessor granting collective bargaining rights to state employees. Union membership plummeted overnight. “I think they were happy to have the extra thousand dollars that would have gone to dues…”

He is not as articulate as Governor Christie, but he is slashing and burning through state spending.

Rita, Katrina, Ike, etc were not surprises. All the safety shutdowns were done in plenty of time.

I will give you an example os what is being forgotten.

When students ask my age, I have always said that I was born four days after Pearl Harbor. Last year, a student asked 'What is Pearl Harbor?'.

Christie should get a couple of terms to clean up New Jersey. So Mitch in 2012 & Christie in 2020! :-)

Morgan, hearing that some of the mining towns in CO are now nearly totally deserted. All the miners gone, all the jobs gone.

Till now there has been little reporting on the disaster that is Salazar. How come?

Hello Miss Didi...haven’t seen you in a while.

Yes, Dana P is like you said...lovely, classy and smart. I didn’t see that bit about defending Barry and Co....

Problem she’s so typical of so many pubs. It’s like playing a card game. If we start the card game agreeing there will be no wild cards, ok. But if someone starts using wild cards we either switch to using wild cards or we play like originally agreed and we lose all the time.

If we agreed to be all nice and diplomatic in the game of politics, fine. But if one side starts playing without anything remotely resembling diplomacy, we either switch to their way.....

...or we lose all the time.

It’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Primarily because none of the major Colorado newspapers reported it. Which also means our local reporters actually agree with the decisions and they don’t see a problem.

All I can attest to is Colorado news reporting today is lacking and not always accurate.

It will be up to Republican legislators, and governor if we win, to restart accurate reporting. Don’t hold your breath.

Caught the end of it, perhaps 40 minutes or so. Jeesh, he’s great. I read whatever he writes because he is one of the few who is totally accurate in his evaluations and analysis. Even if it’s scary at times, like today.

I have sent things like this to Jewish friends but they cannot accept the reality or circumstance presented. I think Victor Davis Hanson scares the hell of them as much as his predictions of consequences.

Agreed.

I was able to watch most of it and as you say its scary to have the truth explained so easily, and straight forward. Most people, be they muzzies, jews, Hispanics, whatever are subjected to so much brainwashing they lose their independent ability to do free and rational thinking.

That's why Davis can come up with perfect solutions and analysis of problems like Israel/Iran and they go unsolved with the same players doing the same old things ignoring his truths.

When he explained that ozeros charisma( which is BS based but seems real) could have been used for a good thing in Iran and zero chose the side of the mullahs few of us were surprised.

That's just who he is, a dictator wanna be.
