Many homosexuals sole source of identity is as a homosexual. That is all that they see themselves as. They cannot differentiate suggesting that homosexuals do not have any special rights and are not normal from a personal attack on themselves.
It is sad that someone thinks so little of themselves that a part of their life that should be personal and private is the only thing they see fit to talk about.
