C'mon, with all the conservative, just as talented, musicians out there, surely he could have found someone else.
This smacks of hypocrisy to me, and I like Rush!!!
I tend to believe it's a distinction without a difference, that even accepting Elton John's view dilutes the meaning of marriage to the point of destroying its traditional essence. The battle to maintain a meaningful distinction appears utterly lost at this point.
And it's not as if Rush Limbaugh's serial childless marriages have served as a model of traditional marriage either. Traditional marriage posits a man and a woman committed to one another in a lifelong relationship for bearing and rearing children. For whatever reasons, Limbaugh's marriages have not fulfilled that basic criteria.
All in all, there is nothing really odd about Elton John performing at Limbaugh's wedding. Judging by their words and conduct over the years, Elton John and Rush Limbaugh appear to agree on the issue of marriage more than they disagree.
There's nothing hypocritical about it at all. Some things in life are not at all about politics. Musical talent tends to be one of those things.
There are a lot of musicians I enjoy listening to, and I'm not at all concerned with their politics.
I have to agree with you ... what, he couldn’t get a conservative to perform at his wedding? Elton John is depraved and a flaming leftist.
Are we going to have to witness Rush in a mental middle-age meltdown now? Is he going to start ‘compromising’ now?
Someone said it’s a slap in the face to the gay community? No it isn’t, it’s a slap in the face to conservatives. And if he hired the reprobate for her, what does that say about her leanings?
I don’t care what area it is, entertainment, journalism, politics, the carpenter down the street....a leftist is hellbent on destruction of our culture. Now old flamer Elton John has another mil to contribute to destructive causes.
And he’s not even that good of an entertainer...
