“New Iowa Poll shows GOP majority favors Terry Branstad in governor’s race”
Branstad: 57%
Vander Plaats: 29
Rod Roberts: 8
This on the heels of a very questionable poll claiming that Iowans support homosexual marriage.

More Americans who dare to want a voice in how their country is run. Fascists! /hope I don’t have to add sarc. tag but these days...
“Iowa Poll: Iowa voters want gay marriage on ballot”.
“Iowa Poll: Iowa GAY voters want gay marriage on ballot”.
There, fixed it.
Iowa Poll: Iowa GAY voters want gay marriage on ballot. There, fixed it."
I don't think so...
I was a FORMER contributor to IFPC. I have no desire to help Democrats and IFPC has said they do not care if they help elect Democrats if the R nominee does not suit them.
With Deace driving that bus, I have no desire to get on it.
It’s been very enjoyable to see all the Dems and libs around here (Boston) who want to get rid of the electoral college and are always screaming about “democracy” suddenly turn on a dime when this issue comes up. They get positively furious when you point out their hypocrisy. They go into these explanations they half-remember from the Globe or the Phoenix, and they end up looking and feeling like fools, because they can’t admit they want what they want and have no cohesive or coherent political philosophy other than this cartoonish Machiavelli “I want what I want, and I’m right, so it’s okay” BS.
It will not happen if even one house of the legislature is controlled by Democrats.
The not-sures must have corn husks for brains.
Iowa Poll: Iowa GAY voters want gay marriage on ballot.
There, fixed it.
No, you're wrong. The gays have their gay marriage already, handed to them by an activist liberal court.
The people of Iowa are outraged and want a chance to vote on the issue. As the article points out, gay marriage is very unpopular with the majority of Iowans. If we could get a vote on the issue we could stop this nonsense.
Also, be sure to vote against all the judges up for retention.
To prevent unnecessary duplication, please do not alter the published title. Thanks.
I think that The Register changed the title to indicate that the poll was of likely GOP voters.
I’m sure the people of Iowa are outraged.
It is an outrage.
If I understand what you’re saying, you mean that members of the flamboyant community already have the right? And the vote, being the voice of the people is hopefully going to put and end to it?
The upcoming elections are very important.
Iowa has had same sex marriage since the Iowa Supreme Court legalized it in 2009. The people of Iowa would certainly vote for a constitutional amendment defining marriage as one man-one woman but the Dem controlled legislature has refused to allow a vote.
I looked at that link. To no surprise, it includes the standard Leftist line about conservatives pushing ‘divisive’ issues when we should be focusing on this or that. It really shouldn’t surprise me anymore, but I just can’t believe how they can get away with such an absurd talking point. They use the courts in a very divisive way to impose their views, and then cry foul when conservatives (representing the majority in almost all cases) dare to fight back. And when the people do get to vote, the result is usually an overwhelming victory for traditional marriage that crosses party and racial lines, which is actually a rare unifying political act.
Why can’t a Republican ever point out this rather obvious nugget?
Still, what does it matter anyway? One newly activist Ted Olson gets his case to the Supreme Court, then the matter will rest in the hands of Anthony Kenndy. I don’t see how any conservative can feel good about that. I put the chance of Kennedy getting this right (by saying that there is no Constitutional right for homosexuals to have their unions recognized by the state, and therefore the matter rests entirely with the states and Congress) at about 20%. I say it’s an even split at 40-40 on whether he goes along in imposing full blown gay marriage, or if he is generous enough to let the states choose between gay marriage or gay marriage in all but name (civil unions, domestic partnerships, etc). Then it will be just like Roe; we’ll bitch and moan, we’ll win a few elections over the issue, but nothing will ever be done.
Even if Kennedy gets it right, then the Left will just wait until Kennedy or Scalia retires, then bring another case when Obama replaces them.
