Carly Fiorina's fatal weakness against Boxer
Chuck DeVore for U.S. Senate ^ | 5 June 2010

Posted on 06/05/2010 2:29:32 PM PDT by CounterCounterCulture

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Chuck DeVore, candidate for the Republican nomination for United States Senate in California, issued this statement in response to Democratic attacks on Carly Fiorina over the past 48 hours:

"I called upon Carly Fiorina once to explain how she'll defend her profound vulnerabilities in a general election. I now repeat that call. Republicans deserve to know how she would make the fight against Boxer about something other than herself: because right now, she is failing to do that.

"Republicans in California have known structural disadvantages: the Democrats have more money, more registered voters, and more media support. We have only one natural advantage: if we're conservative, and if we're ethical, we're right. A Republican who wants to win in California must be both.

"The problem with Carly Fiorina is that her record is neither. That's why she is the weakest possible candidate to face Barbara Boxer in a general election. With her liberal record, her serial self-contradiction, and her brazen self-reinvention, she is the only one of the three Republican candidates for U.S. Senate who offers Boxer an opportunity to talk about something other than the issues.

"In the past few days, we have seen a preview of the Democratic strategy against Fiorina. In response to Fiorina's premature leap into the general election without having won the primary -- with her commercial attacking Boxer on climate change and national security -- Barbara Boxer and her allies have done exactly what we predicted. They pointed out that until last autumn, Fiorina and Boxer generally agreed on climate change, and they revived the electorally damaging story on Fiorina's circumvention of U.S. export restrictions to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"We thus see that a legitimate criticism of Barbara Boxer, when issued by Carly Fiorina, becomes a story about Carly Fiorina.

"If Carly Fiorina is our nominee, this will be the pattern of the entire general-election campaign.

"Fortunately, Carly Fiorina is not our nominee -- and she doesn't have to be. Election Day is Tuesday, and California's Republicans and conservatives can choose a candidate with an unblemished conservative record, who will make Barbara Boxer fight on the issues. I am that candidate."

Chuck you had your chance at Carly. Apparently you did not connect for various reasons. A little too little, too late my friend.

The election concludes Tuesday. If people want Boxer to win in November, nominate unprincipled charlatans like Carly. The choice is still ours.

Good for you.

If California Republicans vote for Carly, they deserve another six years of Boxer hell.

Fiorina favored by 37 % of the voters likely to cast ballots in Tuesday’s primary.

Campbell is backed by 22%

Assemblyman Chuck DeVore 19%

It is moot. Fiorina will win and has the best chance of beating Boxer.

Some on FR would rather have left Wing Democrat Boxer

Carly was once my CEO. From what I have seen, she has gone to the dogs and yes, she would make a great democrat

Concur.

Some here on FR would rather have a democrat calling themselves a republican as senator.

Already voted DeVore in primary (absentee)

I'll vote for whomever challenges the personification of stupidity in the senate (Mrs. Boxer); and, I suspect that will be Ms. Fiorina.

Howdy 3C.

DeVore picked up 2 votes from this household via absentee ballot.

I have already voted for Devore and will vote for the winner of the Republican primary. Boxer is among the worst of the worst.

Maybe the GOP should put up candidates across the board by the name of "(S)Hecanwin" and be done with it.

What a load.

For weeks now, as registered Republicans, we've been getting tons of campaign literature.....nary a single piece from Devore.

Nobody I know has ever heard of him, except here on FR.
