When you wrote about CEOs I made a reference to the old Prisoner television series (who is number 1?). In other words who’s in charge if the CEOs are such bumblers?
The CEOs are “in charge”, as far as it goes. One reason they get away with being such idiots, imo, is that the playing field is level. Corporate culture (again, I’m talking about big companies) is the same everywhere, hence they all suffer from the same diseases.
