Also, we need to consume only what we need. If you need to buy a car, buy used and as cheap as possible. If you really need a new car, well, make sure you can pay for it and get it if you need it, life goes on, but we need to cut back on a lot of consumer spending. Don't buy a lot of HDTV's and so on and concentrate on the necessities. Heck, I still use the same TV since 1983. We need to pay as little taxes as possible. We need to be a bit more Machiavellian
Also, maybe some might not agree, but there is another strategy that is mainly used by polygamous Mormons where they get on welfare so they can "bleed the Beast." Not all of us can do that though.
Also learn as many skills as you can. Not all of us are able to grow food, hunt and so on, but if you have other skills like auto mechanics, electronics repair and so on, your skills and you will be worth to someone who can feed you and you family, especially if they see that you are pulling your own weight or at least giving it a strong try.
