Some of the state colleges in Texas are starting to lay off employees. I saw that TSTC in Waco laid off seventeen. Colleges are generally inverse economic indicators. When the economy gets bad, people go back to college. However, if the loan and grant money dries up, colleges will be in a world of hurt. This is especially true of state run colleges. Texas has notified them that there will be a 10% cut in funding next year.
