The White House said on Friday Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip was unsustainable and urged a Gaza aid vessel sent by pro-Palestinian activists to divert to an Israeli port to reduce the risk of violence.
"We are working urgently with Israel, the Palestinian Authority, and other international partners to develop new procedures for delivering more goods and assistance to Gaza," said Mike Hammer, spokesman for the White House National Security Council.
"The current arrangements are unsustainable and must be changed. For now, we call on all parties to join us in encouraging responsible decisions by all sides to avoid any unnecessary confrontations," Hammer said in a statement.

Actually its not an “Israeli” blockade. As I understand it, it came into being as part of a treaty in the 90s. I think it might have been the Rio treaty.

Sure is a weird thing they got going in Gaza.
Israel sends in food and water and supplies power while blocking others from sending in random packages. Meanwhile the democratically elected government in Gaza doesn’t even acknowledge Israel and shoots rockets off every now and then into local Israeli towns.

If we felw in as many supplies as they want (which we could do every day) it would not be enough for Hamas. Unfettered access to gaza port is what hey want.

Don’t you just love people who do that? And it’s absolutely knee slapping when they use them out of context. OMG! I was in a meeting and the CFO! talked about vanilla(sic) folders several times and at one point said that a certain action would surfice(sic). I was sitting on the front row and managed not to crack a smile, I have a lot of self-control.
