Was it C. S. Lewis or G. K. Chesterson who said “What we need now are men with chests”.
Yep—courage comes from the heart and in this case, Fr.’s courage comes from a heart that is given over to the Lord.
May he continue in his valuable work.
bump!
Was it C. S. Lewis or G. K. Chesterson who said What we need now are men with chests. Yepcourage comes from the heart and in this case, Fr.s courage comes from a heart that is given over to the Lord.I believe it was C.S. Lewis, and you might find this interesting:
"Exorcism is a field of battle only men enter there. It is a place of testing where light meets darkness in mortal combat, where pure goodness clashes with pure evil. Into this arena an incarnate priestly spirit throws himself with prayer, fasting, and a little ritual book against a purely evil entity who dares to violate the temple of God. Roman gladiators and modern metro cool guys havent the courage to go there, but priests do. I would say that it is our natural field of battle for the souls of Gods people --Fr. Euteneuer, exorcist.
That was C.S. Lewis who commented on men without chests, the products of modern education.
I like this and we should send it around as a prayer to rid ourselves of the current crop of liberal politicians educators and general whimps. And in thanks to Father Euteneaur.
God Give Us Men!
by Josiah Gilbert Holland
God give us men! A time like this demands
Strong minds, great hearts, true faith and ready hands;
Men whom the lust of office does not kill;
Men whom the spoils of office cannot buy;
Men who possess opinions and a will;
Men who have honor; men who will not lie;
Men who can stand before a demagogue
And damn his treacherous flatteries without winking!
Tall men, sun-crowned, who live above the fog
In public duty, and in private thinking;
For while the rabble, with their thumb worn creeds
Their large professions and their little deeds,
Mingle in selfish strife, lo! freedom weeps,
Wrong rules the land and waiting justice sleeps
Probably doesnt hurt in the heart (and fire) department that the Fr. was a Marine.
God is looking for a few good men.
