I'm not intimidated, I carry every day almost everywhere I go. I just don't "flaunt it" like some gangbanger with a new silver keychain. Its not necessary. I have the gun, I have the right, I have the permit. But "blinging" it right now is STUPID ... these people are in a frenzy ... and they are doing things that have never happened before in this country. They took away my health care, perhaps my right to continue living (I'm 68) with their damned death panels. But I don't intend to bring it to their "attention" that I'm carrying ... they DO have the power to take that away too. I'd rather be silent and armed, than put it in their FACE. We'll get control soon, then things will be different but for now. Let them worry about Cap and Trade and I'll stay locked and loaded.
See, there's the trouble. You have the permit, but many Californians - perhaps MOST - simply CAN NOT GET a permit, because their "good cause" is not good enough to satisfy the racist/elitist/whatever Sheriff or Police Chief.
Have you read the Colafrancesco papers? If not, you should do so, so you can see just what most people who apply for a concealed-carry license are up against. A corrupt, money-grubbing racket.
Jim March also gathered evidence of racial redlining in Oakland County, where predominantly black cities had concealed-carry issuance rates of 0.0001%, and that percentage usually constituted campaign contributors.
The ONLY way to carry legally for someone whose chief or sheriff WILL NOT issue concealed carry licenses is open and unloaded.
So it is, simply put, the abuse of the licensing system by corrupt chiefs and sheriffs which brought California to this point, not people carrying openly in full compliance with the letter of the law.
