2 Peter 3:3-4

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

“And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”

(sigh)

While I can’t and won’t say for sure that current events are or are not “signs of the apocalypse” ... And knowing that many have spoken falsely before, to gain fame, or money ...

This doesn’t look good.

Do we know the day or the hour? No. But ... it sure looks as though the leaves are turning, and the season approaches.

The Bible commands us to be prepared, in anticipation of the bridegroom, not to bury our heads in the sand and say, “Nonono, it didn’t happen yesterday, it won’t happen today and certainly not tomorrow”, as mentioned by Peter.

Should we all go off and be shouting “Onoz!” at the top of our lungs? Probably not ... but we should be prayerfully alert and aware. And ... “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem”.

(Psalm 122, by the way.)

The point is not that we should ignore the day or the hour because we cannot know them, but rather that we should live every day as though that day or hour might be today ... or this hour.

Regards,
